There is no such thing as "great inexpensive work". You always get what you pay for.

If you want to work in the ski business I would try Vail. Also the women are awesome!!!!!

Colorado Springs will have jobs available. It's a large city. Aspen and Vail are ski towns for the most part. You would have to work at either a restaurant or the slopes. It's their busiest time of the year Dec. -Mar. Start looking now.

My mom works at a big hotel in CO springs and business definitely dips there in the winter. Vail and Aspen are ski towns but they are expensive as heck to live there. If you want more opportunity then CO springs probably has it. All of CO is beautiful so you won't be disappointed. I'll admit though that Aspen and Vail are a step above in the beauty dept.

I grew up in Colorado Springs. It is a big city and has lots of opportunities for work. It is also only about 2 hours to most ski places, so when you want to go skiing in the winter, you'll be able to get most places quickly if you have a car. To work in Vail or Aspen, you will have to work in the resturants or ski slopes, just like the other person said. It is also VERYYYYYY expensive to live there.

About are there any horse stables or ranches in Colorado Springs that are hiring high school students to work

Are there any horse stables or ranches in Colorado Springs that are hiring high school students to work?
I am 15 and will be 16 over the summer. I was wondering if anyone knew of any horse stables or ranches in Colorado Springs area that is hiring high school students my age for jobs for the summer or year round. I have been riding horses since I was four years old, and I can do pretty much anything. I can muck stalls, haul hay bales, help to tack up, groom, and I can help to train, or give beginner lessons. Thanks so much!!

Blanca, your son needs to spend a weekend there to check out the industries and companies which may have employment for someone trained to his degree. I don't know the answer to this question, but I do know Colorado springs is a stunningly beautiful place! I also can steer you to a couple of websites which may help him. The first one is Colorado Springs, Economy and Business Data, this would be the most helpful to him though businesses are not named: http://www.city-data.com/business/econ-Colorado-Springs-Colorado.html And the city's Chamber of Commerce Website may be helpful; it has a business directory: http://www.coloradospringschamber.org/ For general information on the city: http://www.city-data.com/city/Colorado-Springs-Colorado.html

About how easy is it to get a job in colorado springs

How easy is it to get a job in colorado springs?
My wife and I are sick of South Texas weather, so we've made the decision of moving early next year to Colorado Springs, CO. I currently work for an oil well service company as a field engineer, I have a B.S.M.E. After checking the career market in C.S. I've found out that the jobs available are mostly within the IT industry. Is anybody familiar with the job market in C.S. that may be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.

You're right about IT-heavy jobs. I used to live in C.S., and it was wonderful, but if you're not IT or military, it's harder to find good jobs. I'm a petroleum engineer currently on the job search, I've heard promising things about Denver...look into both ConocoPhilips and Shell for openings. There are also some larger gas fields in the northern part of the state, so take a look at Grand Junction. Sorry to dodge the question, but if you're looking for a climate change then any of these cities should fit the bill.
