Advice on moving to Colorado Springs?
My husband is in the Army and will be stationed at Ft. Carson when he finishes training in June. I'd prefer to live off post (and on-post housing isn't always available right away), so I'd really like to know a little more about the area. Are there neighborhoods I should avoid? Any areas that are overpriced? Coming from Connecticut, it's hard to judge prices in other parts of the country because rent is so ridiculously high here. How is the public transportation system? Is the city bike-friendly for when I want to ride to work rather than drive? I'm sure I could think of dozens more questions, but those are a good start I think. I'd really just like to know what living in Colorado Springs is like from the people who live there. Thanks!

Southern Springs is Nice, Thats were I grew up, just dont live in Stratmoor Valley, Stratmoor Medows and Im not sure what Stratmoor Hills is like but that is the best of the 3, thats where I lived.. And I agree with the other post dont work at the Walmart on Platte, that place was crazy even when I lived there. The Citdel Mall is the best mall, Never really liked Chappel Hills Mall. There is also a nice subdivision Cheyeene Meddows, those are awesome houses. Anyway hope you find CO fun. I miss it there.
