About Are there any single women in their mid-20s in Colorado Springs that aren't stuck up and / or already married

Are there any single women in their mid-20s in Colorado Springs that aren't stuck up and / or already married?
I haven't had had one date since moving to this city after I got out of the Marine Corps back in 2005. It seems like this place is a great big family magnet for some reason. Also, the very few single women that you see here in the gym, at Wal-Mart, etc are EXTREMELY snobbish and standoffish and WILL NOT make eye contact with you. So how is a guy supposed to find a date in this town in lieu of what I have just said? I know this isn't the South, but my God this place is at the POLAR opposite when it comes to the ability to meet new people, date, etc. The nicest people that I have met here where I work are either from the Midwest or the South, but unfortunately they are not married. I have an aquaintance at work (he's from Minnesota) and he's noticed the exact same thing so I know its not just me.

I'd be willing to bet that if you relax, you'd find what you're looking for. The Springs is filled with a lot of people.
2 :
this community already suspects outsiders of trouble. and rightly so. Perhaps you and God have an issue, Not you and women, but you and God, for if you found a woman, would you know how to take care of her, and never hurt her,? do you know how God wants you to treat a wife, and the trouble that follows in marraige, I do not think that you know the importance of you being self respecting, to you and to women, cheap dates are what you seem to suggest. Here, this is the first step, God, / Salvation then figure out your issues that make you seem aggressive to the outsiders, fess it up, you are scaring folks with just your simple mindset about dating.

Does any one know a civil law suit attorney in Colorado Springs Colorado. It is a case against my employer?
I hurt myself at work and was fired a few days later. I hadn't worked at this hair salon to long and was not very close with to many people. The owner, Manager and a couple of girls that had been there a long time got together and said I was faking my injury to get workman's Comp benifits which is not what I was trying to do.I seen a Doctor and was told I had a bulged disc in my back.I hired an attorney and as soon as they got word they made up even more acusations, and funny thing the shop was robbed the night I got hurt.Someone who had the key to the door and to the safe. One of the girls who is close to the manager has a criminal history and they got together and said I did it. I never had the safe combination and only used the key one time because there was no one to open and gave it right back to the assistant manager (it was her key). There is a bank, King Soopers and Hobby Lobby so I figure they should have some kind of surveylence of that night. I love working and am not trying to get workman's comp the rest of my life . It has been seven months that this has happened and I let it go at the time because of the stress of being in pain. The more time that goes by I don't feel good about them getting away with that.Do I file a civil suit or some other?

Heaven Sent Hedgehogs, located in Manitou Springs, Colorado, no longer breeds hedgehogs. The Colorado hedgehog community is greatly saddened about this, but other work commitments has necessitated the closure of the facility. My recommendation is to visit the web site of the Hedgehog Breeders Alliance (HBA) and contact another breeder in the Colorado Springs area. Best wishes, Z. G. About Summer Activities in Colorado Springs

Summer Activities in Colorado Springs?
I'm a nanny for a 13 month old boy. His sister will be off for 8 weeks this summer and will be here Sat afternoon-Wed afternoon. I work M-F, so I only have her 2.5 days. So I need about 12-16 days' worth of fun stuff for her that I can also do with the baby. I'm also ok with some "baby-only" suggestions since I have him 5 days a week, and want to get out of the house and discover! She's 11 (a special needs child). So far, we're planning on going to the zoo, Wilson Ranch pool, the trampoline place (forgot what it's called), and maybe Mr. Biggs. It may be hard to bring the baby to Mr. Biggs, though. Are there other things that both a toddler and a middle schooler can do? I have about 3 hours to do something each day (we have to keep the baby on a good nap schedule). Also, please don't tell me about the childrens museum by the citadel--on my last Q someone did and it's been closed for over SEVEN YEARS! Also, I don't want to drive more than half an hour from Rockrimmon--like I said, I have 3 hours, so I want no more than an hour of driving RT. The 11 year old isn't very active, and her brother is (well active for a baby). I'd like some hands-on activities for both of them, preferably indoors (air conditioning!!!)

I would recommend getting outside to some parks and hiking trails. You and the middle schooler could get some exercise, and the baby would get some fresh air and sunlight. Garden of the Gods has some nice strolling trails, and Red Rock Canyon Open Space is a nice place for hikes as well. Hope this helps!

Looking for employment, Colorado springs?
I was laid off from my job as a bartender for a catering company when I was 7 months pregnant. They told me there was "No work". I had my son in December and am still unable to find work in this tough economy. I have experience as a Bartender/Bar management, Server, Secretary/Data entry (clerical) and call centers (inbound & outbound). If you or anyone you know have some ideas I would appreciate it greatly! I have tried the online job searches and never get replies to my applications. I know these are hard times for many people. Thank you for time. Casey

You may want to try net working, contact other bartenders that you know or that you worked with, see if they know of a position. Also try for part time work until you can find a full time job, sometimes these part time jobs become full time. Check with any catering company in your area, see if they need servers or other help on a part time basis. I know you want and probably need full time work, but if that is not available to you try the part time, its better than nothing. Good luck to you in your job search.

About We live in hot Texas and want to move to Colorado

We live in hot Texas and want to move to Colorado. We don't have much money. Is Realty Trac reputable ?
We are interested in buying foreclosures, bank-owned, or any other cheap way to buy a house in Colorado. It seems like real estate is so expensive up there. My husband works for a home improvement corporation but doesn't make much money. My salary is $9.50 per hour. We have no children. Maybe someone with real estate expertise can help us to buy or get a little bit of land in Colorado preferably around Colorado Springs or around the Western slope area.

About How do I start a bed and breakfast/lodge business

How do I start a bed and breakfast/lodge business? Any recommendations?
I am seeking advice for the financing of a bed and breakfast/lodge business. I have 10 acres of picturesque land in Park Co, Colorado. It is less than a mile to the border of Pike national forest, an hour's drive from skiing in Breckenridge, and about an hour from Colorado Springs. Will a commercial loan work for the cost of building? Is there a way for a small business loan to cover costs of furnishing the building and marketing expenses to get started?

Go this website (it'll probably tell you everything you need to know, if not, search google for "start bed and breakfast"):

Check out the Small Business Administration web site -- they're a great resource for the small business owner. I listed a couple of other handy links as well. Try reading up on the subject -- check out Amazon, your local bookstore or library. Prior to investing your time, money & effort into a business name, it is strongly advised that comprehensive research be conducted to ensure that the name you're interested in is truly available. This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark. Research is needed to make sure your trade name is legally available, before opening, before expansion, before incorporation or before designing your logo. Similarities in sound, appearance and meaning affect you too! There are 16+ million trade names in use in the United States. Similar names matter, if close in sound, appearance or meaning. Similar names in related classes, distribution channels and customer matter too. You are affected by Common Law use (14 million), State Trademarks (500,000) and Federal Trademarks (2 million).

Free car diagnostic Colorado Springs, CO?
So my heater isn't working anymore on my 2002 Dodge Dakota. I suspect it's the blower fan, but it could also be the switch or thermostat. I just need some kind of confirmation because i don't know how to test it myself. I'm trying to find out if i can get a free diagnostic somewhere in Colorado Springs Actually it can't be the switch because I can hear it turning on. Also it can't be the thermostat because I can feel hot air coming out. So I'm 97% positive it's the blower fan

Many car repair places will diagnose for free if you pay them to fix it. Otherwise you will be hard pressed to find someone to do this for you. Fans are usually easy to test, so why not do it yourself. You will need two long wires and a 12 volt source. Unplug the fan and then run 12 volts directly to the fan to see if it turns. If no, then you found the problem If yes, look elsewhere.

everyplace scans for free but that doesn't help 1 well..fan work or not..use ears 2 is truck heating up enough? got coolant [low coolant can cause no heat] 3 ever flush coolant system [like it sez to in you owners manual]..reverse flush heater core 4 no joy..let your mechanic do it..its too cold out anyway..lol

About Why are there sooooo many single guys and no SINGLE women whenever I go out in Colorado Springs

Why are there sooooo many single guys and no SINGLE women whenever I go out in Colorado Springs?
Ok, so yes, I've done my fair share of complaining about the state of Colorado and Colorado Springs. So, with regards to fairness, i've started going out alot more to various bars and restaurants in this town in order to try to find single women here. In doing so, it has reinforced my theory regarding the SEVERE lack of single women in this state. In fact, I went out to another bar last night here in C-Springs and what do ya know, it was nothing but a total dude fest. As i've stated before I moved here for a fairly good paying job after leaving the Marines and have been single since 2005 due to being in this state. My place of work closed down, left town, and I stuck around and am one semester shy of obtaining my associate's degree here. Seriously folks, if anyone who might be reading this knows of a city and/or state that has at least a 50/50 male:female ratio please let me know. I'm sick of Colorado Springs where the single male to female ration is 8 men to every 2 women. Since I am a veteran I am eligible to either stay here in Colorado or either move to Texas, Oregon, or Ohio and get in state tuition. I am sincerely seeking some good advice on here and am not here merely to "stir the pot" so to speak. I am a 28 y/o single man, never married, military veteran who needs to find a good city and state to meet and date women. I am looking for long term and not some stupid hook up or one night stand. I've given this state a fair chance (on the order of five years now!!!) and it just isn't cutting it for either myself or any of the other single men that I've talked to that have moved here from elsewhere. I desperately need to get the heck out of the state of Colorado. Any useful advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

Is the military to blame for the SEVERE lack of a dating scene in Colorado Springs, Colorado?
Ha Ha, and you guys thought that I was the only one who hated Colorado Springs because of this! Now, my divorced sister is ALSO hellbent on getting out of here because of being dateless. That should tell you all that I am telling the truth and not just b*tching about Colorado Springs, Colorado here on YA! Me and my sister BOTH are here due to Intel Corp. formerly having a manufacturing facility here in town. My sister's now ex husband used to work for them before they shut down and left town. This city DID HAVE (note the past tense) some great high tech companies along with Intel, but they have all left town and now it is just a bunch of military here. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate our service people, but as a FORMER Marine who was stationed in a military town, I have rightfully EARNED the right to complain about having to live in a town with no single women due to the military. Heck, even my OWN SISTER can't find anyone here in Colorado Springs because all of the guys in their 30s are MARRIED military men. In my case, all of the women are married to military guys. It didn't used to be as bad here as it is now before they moved all of these guys in from Fort Hood, Texas, but now this city is just another Jacksonville/Camp Lejeuen/Fort Bragg/Fayetteville, North Carolina.

About Advice on moving to Colorado Springs

Advice on moving to Colorado Springs?
My husband is in the Army and will be stationed at Ft. Carson when he finishes training in June. I'd prefer to live off post (and on-post housing isn't always available right away), so I'd really like to know a little more about the area. Are there neighborhoods I should avoid? Any areas that are overpriced? Coming from Connecticut, it's hard to judge prices in other parts of the country because rent is so ridiculously high here. How is the public transportation system? Is the city bike-friendly for when I want to ride to work rather than drive? I'm sure I could think of dozens more questions, but those are a good start I think. I'd really just like to know what living in Colorado Springs is like from the people who live there. Thanks!

sounds like you are putting the cart before the horse, you need to pick your city, move there, go the a real estate school and get certified by that state, and hopefully by then you will have been there long enough to know the area and be able to help people, when someone is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a home and ask about the neighborhood, they don't to hear "i don't know, i'm new"

Your very first contract, which could take a couple weeks to a month, may entail another week or two before it is approved. At that time, it may take 30-60 days before it closes. If you continue to write a contract at the rate of one a week, you can extrapolate that. If you write a contract every couple days on a regular basis, you can probably enjoy a nice income beginning at 45-60 days. It can take longer, depending on your contract rate. Remember that the Broker/Owner may receive 50-60% of the sales commissions on a closing. Some % are 50-50. You pay all your own expenses and of course deduct all business related expenses from gross income. You will need enough cash to support your living expenses plus business expenses for at least 60 days. Maybe more as a cushion. You will be expected to knock on doors in order to garner listings for the Broker. All listings that you obtain and if you sell that property, no commissions are split with any other sales person. Any sale by you of another's listing, the commission is split with the one who listed the property. The Broker receives 1/2 of the total, first. If another sales person sells a property that you listed, you in turn receive half. This applies even on properties that are listed by a competitive Broker.

Why are women in Colorado Springs so backwards and anti-social for?
I'm former military so I've lived in a few places in the United States. Colorado Springs, Colorado, minus southern California, has the MOST anti-social, unfriendly, rude, and stuck up women that i've ever been around in my entire life. When I'm at school (community college) they won't look at me or give me the time of day and DO NOT wish to expand their social cirlces. Same thing goes at the gyms here in this town AND out at bars and clubs. They don't want anything to do with you their either UNLESS you are a born and bred Coloradoan, Californian, or they know you from work or high school. Compared to southerners these people are very backwards IMHO. Hell, I probably would already be married by now or at the very least have a g/f if I had relocated to a city somewhere in the South versus this anti-social infested s***hole. I think that people from Texas and the South should AVOID moving to this state at all costs!

Hey hey hey there that's quite the generalization. I too am from Colorado Springs, in fact I just moved back home there this month, and I am not at all like the girls you described above. I love Colorado for the nature aspect of it, not for the people. I'm terribly sorry friend but I think you that wherever you go you will find nasty anti-social women, regardless of the state you are in. It's just a fact of life you have to get used to, some people are kinder than others.
2 :
try internet dating. that is the new and easiest way to meet women. its like shopping. good luck - and dont feel bad, sadly there are narrow minded people in this world, i deal with it everyday.

dammmmmmn that's messed up dude but have you ever thought maybe its not the girl and maybe its you? not every girl in a city hates you and not every girl will like you dude just like you don't like every girl just keep trying man and maybe try a smoother approach good luck dude and if that doesn't work move to miami. About Is Colorado laid back in Denver

Is Colorado laid back in Denver? How about Colorado Springs?
Is Colorado laid back in Denver? How about Colorado Springs? Do both those areas experience "Chinook" warming trends often times in the winter? How long and what temps can I expect when they hit? Is the area along I-25 fairly much "I'm ok & your ok as long as you don't hurt me"? I know smoking indoors in public is not ok. Is it politically correct and very liberal? I don't care if my neighbor is gay, has a gun, is union, right to work, pro-choice, or pro-life, but I don't like all the political correctness Illinois has. Nor do I like a rigid, uptight, government telling me how to live. IE. . A nanny state - big brother is there to take care of me whether I like it or not.

Colorado Springs is more conservative, Denver more liberal. Neither like a lot of government interference. Weather varies greatly..can get up in the 60s in the winter if a warm front comes through...but there can be 3 feet of snow the next day. Colorado is simply a fantastic place to live...people there love it, are very healthy, very active, very educated. It is a young, vibrant, highly educated, tech oriented place.
2 :
Having lived in the springs as its called by locals for the past year, heres my thoughts: 1. Winter- yes it can get warm in that area, but then again its VERY variable- it can be a blizzard one day then 2 days later you see grass and its 50. LOTS of wind all the time. VERY dry. But its generally sunny. Winter can last until April, like last year, but again its variable- one day warm, another cold. They just got 4 inches a few days back, but its now 60 out there so yea thats typical. Snow doesnt last on the ground like it does here though- its snow and melt in a day or two except right up by the mountains. 2. Yea- people around there are pretty laid back, they dont care what you do as long as you arent bothering them or breaking the law. Yea, its pretty much do as you will its your own business just dont let it bother me. 3. Denver is so big- you get it all, from Boulder to downtown life- its all different but in general again laid back easygoing. Yes, having now moved to northwest indiana after loosing my job in colorado- its definitely a big difference and I loved it out there- but the economy isnt much better and Denver costs almost as much to live in as Chicago does. Hope that helps.
3 :
Colorado Springs is very conservative. I don't think "laid back" is a term I would use to describe the Springs. Denver, for the most part is pretty laid back, live and let live as long as your dog isn't barking.
4 :
What ever you do , do not go to Colorado Springs it is very conservative and military mind set . Plus people there are some what belligerent . People in the Springs are in a universe on their own . You definitely like Denver especially downtown it is great place to hang and do what ever you want . Denver is generally laid back sometime too laid back . Denver is your best bet for a good time . Denver and Colorado Springs are different states of mind I can tell right now . I work in CS but live Denver area.

What do I all have to do to get it? I'm only allowed to come 30 days prior my course starts at the college. I will be on a F-1 Visa... Is there any difference between me and a US Citizen? I believe I have to show my visa and stuff, which will not be a problem. And how can I meet already people from there? I would like to meet some people before I move. Thanks.

However students are exempted from needing to get a Colorado license...though I believe you can get one if desired. You will have plenty of time , after you get there to ask a fellow student to take you to one of the drivers license offices in town and ASK what you should do. Also, the foreign students office at the college can advise you on this. You will LOVE Colorado Springs. Hope you have a great time.

About Do you think working at a sign shop is good experience for an entry level graphic design work

Do you think working at a sign shop is good experience for an entry level graphic design work?
I would be laying out the signs and reproducing logos. scanning and be involved in the printing and production. Also some vehicle wraps. There does not seem to be all that many entry level opportunities in Colorado Springs, but this seems less creative although I was getting more freelance work. I am a career changer so I don't have as much time as a younger person. Thank you for any thoughts on this.

I think it is definitely related to your field. Perhaps you'll learn a few things you didn't know about on this end of the business. It helps to be knowledgeable in all areas of your chosen profession. Besides, you may learn of new opening or hear more being somewhere that deals with that type of clientele. You're definitely on the right track!

I answer this as someone who founded a large advertising agency, and hired a number of graphic designers over the years. Your experience working in a sign shop has limited appeal to a potential employer in a graphic design firm. In a place where the major output is creative work -- brochures, posters, ads, logos, letterheads, your experience in the sign shop is more "printing and production" than creating new pieces. Colorado Springs has a number of good graphic design firms. If your goal is to work for one of them, you need to have a very broad portfolio of work to show, and you won't impress them by showing them your work from a sign shop. Suggestion: since your phrasing ("I would be ...") indicates that you aren't employed there yet, I advise you to look elsewhere for a job. Since you "don't have as much time as a younger person," don't waste weeks or months in a place that won't advance your career. Good luck.

About Moving to Colorado Springs - Apartments

Moving to Colorado Springs - Apartments?
I am 22 years old and am graduating from Iowa State in May and have a job lined up in Colorado Springs with the Department of the Airforce at the Peterson AFB. I am originally from Illinois and have never been to Colorado Springs. Is there a nice/more fun area in the city that I should be looking into moving to? I want to be near where I am going to work, but also would like to be in an urban area with people my age. I am willing to pay up to $600 a month for a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment. Any suggestions on some apartment complexes or areas of Colorado Springs I should live? Thanks in advance for any input!!

I live in a great complex and it is about 5 miles from the Air Force Academy. The complex is called Grand River Canyon Apartments and it is located in the North region of Colorado Springs. I have a 1bed/1bath and I pay $606/month; I've lived there for about a year and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy Colorado Springs :)

About Colorado Springs in the summer

Colorado Springs in the summer?
My parent's boss lives in Colorado during the summer so we're also going there for the summer. My parents are going to be working most of the time Monday through Friday and I need something to do while they are at work. I don't know ANY body there nor have I been there before and I don't drive yet so if you can list some places I can take the bus to go to. I'm seventeen turning eighteen this August so I want to know where I can go to spend my 18th birthday as well. I'm pretty sure my parents want to go to places during the weekends so don't list just places where I can take the bus in. List cities that are an hour away where we can visit some awesome places. I know there are a lot of scenery for me to explore and I'd love to do a lot of that but my concern are the wild animals around. Is there a BIG chance that I'll come across snakes because I am VERY scared of them, or any other animal I should be afraid of while walking around in Colorado Springs? Give me anything else that I need to know about summer time in Colorado Springs as well, thank you!

You will LOVE Colorado Springs. If you like the outdoors, there are many great parks right in the city where you can hike ..and on the weekends your family can go to many of the great stat e and natonal parks in the state. Garden of the gods is a great place to walk and hike in the city. You can go to the main bus station downtown and get a bus map. You may want to join the YMCA...they have several branches around town and lots of activities. You are very unlikely to see any snakes uness you go sown to creek and actively look for them...I lived in Springs for 30 years and the only snakes I saw were the ones my kids loved to bring home from their adventures at the nearest creek! There are quite a few public swimming pools in Coloado Springs. 1st site below has lots of good info for you. On weekends you and your family can visit Denver...tons of things to do there...great zoo ( Colorado Springs has one too) , fantastic Museums, Rockies baseball, Water World, Elitches amusement park and water park Rocky Mountain National Park is amazing and only less than 2 hrs away. Hope you have a great summer.

Hey, I live here, its pretty cool :) You must visit Garden of the Gods, its breathtaking. A few of the trails there are sidewalks, so I highly doubt you will be running into any snakes. I have ridden the bus once. I don't really know much about the buses, but I do know if that is going to be how you are getting around, you will be walking quite a bit. If you are a girl (sorry, I dont want to assume anything) there is a lot of shopping you can do! It is'nt the best, but it is a lot of fun. Try the brirgate mall, its strip mall. The citidal is another good mall. Also you should visit old colorado city, it is amazing! try and find the ice cream shop, it is great in the summer! With your parents, head up to denver, it is great! there are museums, amusment parks, you might find some sporting event going on up there sometime, or maybe a concert. To be honest, I find a lot of those things a little boring unless I am with a friend. If i were you, I would try and get a friend to come with you! just a suggestion, you dont HAVE to do that, but it does get a little boring down here.

About Would my plan for a Disney/Universal vacation work

Would my plan for a Disney/Universal vacation work?
My family and I are going to Disney next year. We're going to stay at Colorado Springs. We're planning on getting an early flight to Orlando so we get there at around 10 AM. Then we're planning to rent a car at the airport and drive it to Universal with our luggage still in it and spend the day doing both of the parks there. Then, at the end of the day, we're going to drive the car back to the airport and board the next Disney Magical Express bus that comes that will take us to Disney for the rest of our vacation. Would this work or is there something wrong with it?

It's a lot of stuff packed into your first day there. Your whole family is going to be so tired!
2 :
it woould work perfectly fine but the thing you need to look out for is the distance of everything the timeing away from everything through all transportation and how much time you spend at each place.
3 :
Yeah, but the hotel is called the CORONADO Springs. You wouldn't want to drive around all night looking for the wrong hotel... But I would check in to the hotel first, because if your going to go to two parks in one day you'll be out pretty late, and it would be easier to come back with your luggage there instead of having to unload it then. And it would suck to unload it out of the bus at like midnight! But overall it sounds like a pretty good plan. Have fun in Disney World! I was there in June, and it was fun. In fact I stayed at the same hotel!

there is nothing wrong with your plan it would work quite well [i have done it myself]. depending on when you want to arrive at universal, you might want to get there early [universal has quite a bit of rides]. i have stayed at the CORONADO springs before and it was somewhat busy. it took me about a half hour to check in. universal is not that far away from disney, but it is a bit of distance away. depending on how long you are staying there on vacation i recommend 2 days at universal, and the rest of the vacation at disney and in the hotel.

Visiting Orlando, Florida is an incredible vacation experience for both children and parents alike. Most parents actually recall their childhoods when they visit Walt Disney World. The weather is fantastic year round, the summer months can be a bit warm and humid but so is the rest of the United States during that time. Basically 9 or 10 perfect weather months makes Florida the ideal destination for your next family Orlando vacation. Orlando, Florida plays host to a wide variety of incredible tourist attractions, including the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando. Walt Disney World resort is the largest attraction and probably the most visited of three, it includes; Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Downtown Disney. SeaWorld Orlando is a large water themed park that features several zoological and marine animal exhibits as well as an amusement park with roller coasters and water rides. Universal Studio's Orlando, like Disney, is a giant themed amusement park. Universal Studios Florida includes; CityWalk, and the Islands of Adventure theme park. In addition to the incredible theme parks and attractions, Orlando has many fantastic hotels and resorts along with delectable restaurants. Most resorts have large beautiful swimming pools to enjoy in the afternoon and most provide free parking. Have fun and enjoy your next Orlando vacation.
